Josep “Pepe” Oriola Vila
Born in Barcelona on 9 July 1994, Pepe Oriola built a remarkably early career from karting to the World Touring Car Championship.
He started karting in 2004 at the age of nine. After competing in Spanish and international karting, he moved into touring cars in 2009, first with a Peugeot 207 and then a SEAT León.
At only 15 he stood on the podium on his debut at Jerez. In 2010 he raced in the SEAT León Supercopa and Eurocup, becoming the youngest winner in the category at Brands Hatch.
For 2011 he joined SUNRED Engineering in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. At Curitiba, aged 16 years, 8 months and 11 days, he became the youngest driver to start a WTCC race.
