Pepe Oriola arrived at Monza focused on continuing his development in the World Touring Car Championship.
The young SUNRED driver expressed concern about the new compensation-weight decision, which affected the balance between the cars before one of the fastest events of the season. Even so, the objective remained clear: gain experience, finish both races and keep progressing against the most experienced touring-car drivers.
Monza represented another important step in a debut year that had already placed Oriola in the record books as the youngest driver ever to start a WTCC race.
